Silver has dealt with captors and jailers aplenty, but Warden is unlike any she has encountered before… then he steps up his game and actually takes the time to find out what triggered her crime spree.

Warden finds the story Silver ends up telling him almost impossible to believe, it goes against so many truths he knows. But what if there is a kernel of truth in that story of pain… if the pain made her overlook details that were important?

What makes this story powerful is how characters dealing with pain, and loss, do it in different ways. We see how some spin out of control, how some hold tighter to what they believe in, and how some feel betrayed by the fates themselves.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read was a page turner containing a lot more story than I expected. Silver is a forty something woman whose mistakes come back to haunt her, and Warden helps her discover forgiveness isn\’t about forgetting. Maybe Scizzor could learn that lesson next.
