I believe this is a current origin story for Batman, I phrase it that way as it hits many familiar beats, but it implies Alfred is part of the creation of Batman, as opposed to someone confided in not long after Batman begins solving crimes… For the sake of brevity Robin and Batgirl are introduced at the same time in this story, again creating the impression they were both helping Batman (together) simultaneously, and the focus remains on Batman, omitting his ward Dick Grayson from the story.

This is a solid quick read, but for longtime fans of Batman seeking to introduce their young child to the character there may be moments that give you pause.
