I was struck as I was reading this beautifully written book by this feeling that sometimes we so easily believe the things we have been told, without really exploring the reality for ourselves, and sometimes we forget how easily we could be the one in the other person\’s shoes.
Early on, I was unsure how I was going to feel about this book, it gave a dark and sad vibe, but given the serious issues it was tackling, I pressed beyond that, intrigued by this exploration of characters who risked everything for what they believed in, and those they care about.
