Ally has daydreamed about the life she didn’t live, but maybe could have. She’s wondered about the father who has never been a part of her life, and his entire side of her family. But sometimes reality leaves you wishing you’d left that door shut.
Dale is leading his family the best he can. He and his brothers Jean Luc and Drago squabble as only siblings can… and they care for one another in that same unique, complex way. When desperate times call for desperate measures they do something they hope will be the answer to all their problems… but it’s only after they are knee deep that they realize it isn’t enough for the deal to be good for Ally too… it should be the answer to all her problems too.
This done in one book challenges the characters to be honest with themselves, to face some hard questions and face reality, even when they would rather not. Through it all what I appreciated most was they way people cared for one another as they are, rather than trying to change them.
