Mr. Monk Goes To The Firehouse captures all the best qualities of the tv show, there are moments in this book where the dialogue for the characters is so spot on I could hear the actors in my mind.

Written from the perspective of Natalie, the Watson to Monk\’s Holmes, we investigate a case that is brought to him by Natalie\’s daughter Julie. It gives the story a personal element, and raise a the stakes when it comes to solving the case, as no one wants to let down a kid, much less one they know.

I love that this story embraces how messy and complicated life can be, weaving that in and making it part of the plot… There are also classic Monk moments that had me laughing out loud.
