“A butcher, but not a monster.”
Rory, the clan butcher, and his son, have been supporting characters in previous stories, but here they move center stage and we truly get to know the guys every one in town knows they can count on.
Callisto arrives in town with a simple plan, positive things will go one of two ways, but she quickly learns GreenAcre isn’t a black and white kind of town. This community not only recognizes the grey areas in life, it understands compassion and more powerful than offering forgiveness it shares their secrets for giving and receiving genuine and sincere forgiveness.
This done in one Kindle unlimited book runs a range of emotions as it deals with foster care, neglected and abandoned children, and the emotional scars childhood can leave that effect the rest of our lives, but those aspects are powerfully balanced by forgiveness, hope, multiple threads of chosen family, and the strength we can draw from true and sincere allies.
A number of characters from previous books appear in this one, but Taylee has some truly standout scenes, and Sebastian does something “off camera” that is perfectly in character, and truly beautiful. I love reading stories in a rich Universe where the community of characters is remembered, and used well, as was the case here.
