Self Contained story with hints of more to come / upcoming plot turns
One of the many things I am really liking about this three part series is the fact each book feels like a self contained story that reaches a satisfying conclusion before giving the reader a glimpse of what turn the next part may take. As opposed to blatant cliffhanger endings, or classic \”leave the primary characters in peril\” endings, this is just a few paragraphs that tease the drama that is about to come, and remind the reader Henry and Monica are still finding their way to their happily ever after.
I enjoy stories where characters are not defeated by their pasts, or whiny about them, but rather are willing to put in the work to heal and move forward — and Caught delivers on that score, even better than the previous book which set up Monica has a wounded woman. Here she trusts Henry to take her from her sheltered environment back to a place where she may encounter reminders of that painful past, and how they deal with it is very telling about both characters.
I read this book on Kindle Unlimited, and am looking forward to the next installment.
